General attributes:

 

1.     This was a two phase project

a.      Phase one consisted of the combination pool, the wading pool, pool equipment and chemical storage rooms adequately sized for adding a competition pool

b.     Phase two consisted of adding another pool which, based on the developing demographics, was design as a play pool

2.     Scope of design by Pool Design Consultants

a.      Combination pool consisting of competition, leisure, and water slide component

b.     Wading pool

c.     Play pool as part of Phase II

d.     Pool equipment room and chemical storage room hydraulics

e.      In conjunction with the owner, Pool Design Consultants, Inc. provided project management advise for the owner.

The multiple use aquatic facility was designed per the following design criteria:

1.     NC Department of Environment and Natural Resources T15A: 18A .2500 NC DENR, DEH Environmental Health Services March 1, 2004  SECTION .2500 - PUBLIC SWIMMING POOLS

2.     ANSI/NSPI 1 Current edition at the time of design

 

          The multiple use aquatic facility was designed for the following activities:

 

1.     Competitive swimming events

2.     Large deck area to accommodate multiple swim team events and allow for high volume use

3.     Aerobics

4.     Leisure activities

5.     ADAAG access

6.     Slide feature

7.     Water features using both a wading pool and play pool

 

          The multiple use aquatic facility was designed for the operational attributes:

 

1.     Automated sanitation systems

2.     Institutional quality hydraulic systems

3.     Automated backwash controls

4.     Automated water level control systems
